With a mantra like “Get shit done” I knew that I was in for some serious fun with the MOMA team. From the beginning, they stood out as a team with swagger, gestalt and a whole lot of brains.

With so many PhDs and scientific minds, I was surprised as how easy it was for them to explain Molecular Machines to me. I remember Christoph saying, “Lisa, they pick things up and they put them down. They move things. They are the laborers of the cells.” So complex, yet so clear. After a full day workshop and a slew of interviews, we came up with four essential areas that described the MOMA team culture.

With a leadership team that was focused more on getting the work done than fundraising each month, their impending success seemed evident. However, capturing that in words made them sound too serious.

Don’t get me wrong, they’re serious, but they were also playful and had these amazing lives outside of work. One of the common threads that came through was this little motor running the back of their heads all the time. They never quite shut down. They weren’t work-a-holics, but rather people who enjoy problem solving so much that the solutions tended to appear when they were focused on bringing their kids to soccer practice, mowing the lawn, knitting, and gardening. That was it! Under the headline of “Unapologetically Scientific” we knew we had a winner.

  • “We engaged Lisa at StoriTel to help us with the launch of MOMA Therapeutics. She was able to quickly understand our people, our culture, and the areas that truly differentiated us to candidates. The work speaks for itself and the final product is something we’re very proud of.”
